There are just some things you shouldn’t do because you know better.  Like…  Spend a decent amount of dollars on scallops at Whole Foods when you have cold and can’t taste a darn thing.  Or experiment with your new favorite spices from Savory Spice Shop on your decently dollar-ed scallops when you can’t taste a darn thing.  It makes the whole sick thing just a tad bit more of a bummer.

I distracted myself by dusting off my 100mm lens and getting severely close to my food.  Those who can’t taste, take pictures?

I thought for a while that I jumped the gun on the 100mm and should have started with the 50mm (that I keep on my camera 95% of the time).  But I re-fell-in-love with the macro tonight, just in time for a photo-filled weekend in Austin!

I’m still new-ish to photography and I keep hearing about these 50mm lenses. Should I have one on my X-Mas list??

Yes! I gave away my stock lens after shooting with the 50mm f/1.4. There’s also the f/1.8 option (the nifty fifty) that’s super affordable.
