As I walked from the plane to baggage claim, I couldn’t help but smile a huge smile. Am I really moving back to Texas? Who would have ever thought!
Skylar picked me up from the airport and we debated going on a run or sipping cocktails in the sunshine. Naturally, sunshine won, so we walked over to Crow Bar for some happy hour.
Again, I found myself smiling so big, in total disbelief that this would be my home in a few short weeks. Skylar looked at me and said “It’s Austin, Kristin, Austin makes people happy.”
I knew she was right. And I know with complete certainty that I’m going to love living in this feel-good city.
We picked up sandwiches, met one of her kickball friends to watch the Kansas game, and then met up with one of my college friends to play ping pong. The night ended with jumping on a trampoline. It was hilarious. Between ping pong and trampoline, we had a night that any 7 year old would be jealous of.
Now off to apartment hunting! Wish me luck!

Thirsty Planet is right down 290 from me but I’ve yet to go. I must fix that soon!

Aww thank you! You should definitely go when it’s nice and sunny outside. Sitting outside on the picnic tables in the sunshine is perfection!
