I think that some people – scratch that – most people look forward to expensed meals on business trips.  I don’t.  Don’t get me wrong, I heart the free-ness, but after an already extended day with co-workers…  I wanted to eat my last meal of the day in a business-free zone.
And maybe I also wanted to eat an entire pizza with a side of hummus, plopped smack dab in the middle of a king sized hotel bed, in a judgement-free zone.  Is that so wrong??

    Thank you!
When I travel for work, everyone always remarks about how lucky I am to expense my meals. Umm…we’re still on a budget, I still prefer my food at home (eating out gets old) and I’m still stuck with coworkers most of the time. It’s not that bad when I’m by myself, as then I can enjoy the (expensed) meal in peace, and will totally play the “loner” card when needed.

That looks delicious, by the way.

Not to mention having to fill out your expense statement later on!

I couldn’t agree with you more… go away already, I’ve had enough work. Just let me eat my pizza in peace.
