I had been jonesing for an excuse to re-visit The Bricks since eating there the night of the Ed Sharpe show and today was as good a day as any. My aunt was heading over with the kids and I recalled a few items on the menu that spoke to tiny, picky eaters. I also recalled a portabello sandwich that was high up on my list of ‘must eat again soons’.
The sandwich was as excellent as I had expected. The kids’ orders? Well, the kid friendly dishes exceeded any expectation one could have. Sandwiches served crustless and with a side of grapes – check. Bananas and apples topped with peanut butter, granola, and and fruit preserves – check.
This was a menu that the ten-year-old Kristin that refused to eat from a childrens’ menu would have approved of.
We also ordered the daily special which was something along the lines of ‘there ain’t nothin’ French about this soup’ and a spinach and gouda grilled cheese on herbed pita. Even the little monster pictured below (that steers clear of anything green) ate some!
In addition to all of the edible goodness that was going on, they also had a huge shelf with games, JENGA!, books, magazines, and anything anyone who is waiting for anything could be entertained by. Love.
And then we were off to the Children’s Museum…
And then… I was exhausted.
